Washington State Science Fairs
ISEF-Affiliated Science Fairs in Washington State
The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) is the world's largest pre-college science competition, with nearly $4 million in awards and scholarships. To compete at ISEF, high school students in Washington State must win first or second place at one of the following ISEF-affiliated fairs:
- Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (WSSEF)
Open to all students in Washington State, grades 1-12. Held in Bremerton, Washington, late March or early April each year.
- South Sound Regional Science Fair (SSRSF)
Open to students from Pierce and Thurston counties, grades K-12. Held in Tacoma, Washington, every March. Students from this region must participate before going to WSSEF.
- Mid-Columbia Regional Science and Engineering Fair
Open to students from the Mid-Columbia Region of Washington and Northeastern Oregon, grades 6-12. Held in Kennewick, Washington, every March. Students from this region must participate before going to WSSEF.
